PEARL LEVY

Biography

Pearl Levy has been sculpting in various metals, stone and bronzes for more than thirty years.  Her work has participated in numerous exhibitions – primarily at Galerie Michel-Ange, and Galerie Jean-Pierre Valentin, Montréal; at the Canadian Sculpture Centre, and the John B. Aird gallery, Toronto. Her work is included in numerous private and public collections – including: Bombardier Inc., Patterson International; Téléglobe Canada; Habitation Classique; CIBC / Wood Gundy; La banque Royale du Canada, Montréal; Royal Bank of Canada, Toronto; Hôtel de Ville; Loto-Québec; United Nations Assocation of Canada; Musée de la ville de Lachine; Musée de Bas Saint-Laurent; Royal Carribean Cruise Line; Ernst and Young; Power Corporation of Canada; and Rothenberg & Rothenberg, QC.

She was elected into the Sculptors Society of Canada in 1993.  She lives and works in Montréal.

Artist Statement

My work seeks to represent the strength and fragilities of humanity and the ambivalence of our inner feelings. These characteristics blend together to epitomize the perseverance of the human spirit.

Mon oeuvre cherche à mettre en evidence la force et la faiblesse de l’homme, ainsi que l’ambivalence de ses sentiments profonds. Ces caractéristiques se fondent pour mieux traduire la continuité de l’esprit de l’humanité.
